Our client approached us with a desire to replace an existing detached garage, to the front of his property. The garage had become more of a storage space, being too small for a vehicle and no longer fit for purpose. The design was also not in-keeping the main dwelling.
“The garage had become more of a storage space, being too small for a vehicle and no longer fit for purpose.”
The design brief was to create a multi-use outbuilding which would be suitable to secure a vehicle but also provide some ancillary space to the main house.
“the addition of an enclosed mezzanine to provide a small home office space and storage.”
Selby designed the new detached garage with a vehicle space and utility area at ground level internally, with the addition of an enclosed mezzanine to provide a small home office space and storage. The placement of a large roof lantern over the rear section, provided increased head height and the new external materials used were carefully considered to compliment the existing main dwelling.
